5 Exercises You Can Do At Home To Tighten Your Bum Muscles
There’s no excuse not to exercise at home and with so many people these days having lower back problems it’s a good idea to work those bum muscles.
Here are five exercises you cn do at home, without a gym membership or lots of equipment:
1. Squats: This is a classic exercise for tightening up your bum muscles and strengthening your lower body. Start by standing with feet shoulder-width apart and toes slightly turned out, then bend the knees and lower your hips towards the floor until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Hold for 2 seconds, before pushing back up to the starting position.
2. Step Ups: Start by placing one foot on a raised platform or step (such as stairs in the home), then press through that heel as you drive that knee toward your chest while keeping the other leg straight and level with the hip. Lower down slowly with control before alternating legs and repeating.
3. Single Leg Glute Bridge: Lie flat on your back with feet placed flat on the floor, hip-width apart. Lift one foot off the ground and extend it straight up towards the ceiling. Push through your heel to lift your hips in the air until your body forms a straight line from shoulders to ankles. Squeeze those glutes and hold for 3 seconds before lowering back down slowly.
4. Fire Hydrants: Start in tabletop position (all fours) on the ground and make sure that wrists are directly under shoulders and knees are directly under hips. Keeping one knee bent at 90 degrees, lift that leg out to the side keeping toes pointed downward or slightly forward. Hold for a few seconds before returning to starting position then repeat on alternate sides.
5.Clamshells: Start lying on one side with your knees bent at 90 degrees, making sure that hips and shoulders stay stacked. Keeping feet together, lift the top knee away from the bottom knee without moving your pelvis. Pause for 2 seconds before returning back to starting position then repeat on alternate sides.
To make the most of these exercises and reach your goals, it is important to remember to engage your core, keep your spine straight and use controlled movements when performing each exercise. For best results, complete at least 3 sets of 10-15 reps for each exercise 2-3 times per week!
These exercises are a great way to build strength and tone those bum muscles so why not give them a try today! Remember, always use correct form and control when doing any exercise in order to get the most out of it and reduce injury risk.
Remember to always listen to your body and never push yourself beyond what is comfortable. If you experience any pain, stop immediately and seek medical advice if necessary. Have fun with your workouts!
Stay safe and healthy!
